Words From Our Elected Officials and Friends in the Community

July 14, 2015

Linwood Center bronze plaques Linwood recently erected two plaques in our vestibule that acknowledge those who were instrumental in building our new school building that we opened two years ago. Below is the message we sent to each and some of the replies we received…

Our message…

It is with pride and great pleasure that we at Linwood Center erect permanent acknowledgment to those individuals, elected officials, businesses, and state and local entities that were instrumental in transforming our dream of a new school building into a reality. We invite you to visit us, at your convenience, and see your name or the name of your business on the beautiful bronze plaques that are now permanently affixed to our building. Through your actions, you have helped Linwood create the possibility of extraordinary lives for children and adults living with autism and related developmental disabilities throughout Howard County and the State of Maryland. We thank you for that.

Replies…

“Thank you for the honor! I’m so appreciative to be able to partner with Linwood to serve our neighbors with autism and developmental disabilities. You do invaluable work and this acknowledgment means a great deal to me personally. Please continue what you are doing and know that I am a partner in service.”

“Thank you very much for the recognition. We are proud to be associated with Linwood. The excellent work done in Howard County has been remarkable…”

“How very kind of you to honor us in this way. I look forward to visiting in the near future. The real honor belongs to you for the work you do. I know this will help you continue that, and I am grateful.”

“What a nice gesture! Thanks so much…We accomplished many great things together…, especially because of tremendous advocates like you. Hope you’re having a great summer!”

“It was my pleasure and honor… Keep up Linwood’s good works.”
