School Building Update – May 1, 2012

April 30, 2012

The next phase of our building project is to begin the site work. For those who know us, you know that one of our residences, the Gray House, sits to the left of our driveway as you enter our campus. That is the site where the parking for the new school will be located. The four residents who lived in the Gray House moved to a much larger house in Catonsville. The Gray House, a modular home that we’ve owned since the mid 1980s, is scheduled to be dismantled and its parts used by Habitat for Humanity. Once the foundation is filled in, grading on the site will begin and we are on our way!

The Gray House

We expect to have the first phase of our project completed in time to open the doors to our new school for the 2014 school year. The cost of this first phase is just shy of $6.4 million. Between the funds we have raised, fund that are pledged or committed, and the amount we will finance, we are just over $400,000 shy of our goal, which is a fraction of the total cost of the project that we were successful in raising.

We continue to need your support to help us close this final gap in funding for this project. Please explore how you can give by clicking on any of the following links.  Naming Opportunities. Levels of Giving. FAQs. Or, email Bill Moss, Executive Director, or call him at 410-465-1352.
