Introducing O’Brien’s Garden

June 2, 2016

On June 1st, Linwood Center dedicated its new garden to one of our Crisis Intervention Counselors, Tim O’Brien. Linwood staff surprised Tim with a garden dedication ceremony where he was presented with the garden’s new sign and named “Employee of the Month” for his outstanding work and dedication to serving Linwood’s students.

Tim began working on the newly dubbed “O’Brien’s Garden” in February IMG_0941 and has donated his green thumb and hours of his time to bringing life to the garden—even coming in on evenings and weekends with his brother to work on it. He has built raised beds for the garden, ordered and placed dirt, and planted fruits, vegetables and herbs with the help of Linwood’s students.

“I was motivated to get the garden started so the students could be outside more,” said Tim. “The best part about building the garden was having coworkers, friends, and family members help me build it.”

This garden has been a dream of ours since we opened, and Tim made it a reality. We are so excited to see it grow and thrive!
