Governor O’Malley Supports Linwood

October 6, 2010

Governor Martin O’Malley signs Linwood’s 2010 Bond Bill

We are pleased to announce Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley has signed Linwood’s 2010 Bond Bill. The bond will support the design and construction of a new school building at Linwood Center.

The project entails building a 35,000 square foot new school building adjacent to our current historic building. The new school will allow Linwood to provide education and vocational training to a larger segment of the exploding population of children with autism who live in Maryland. One in 110 children will be diagnosed with autism this year. Currently, Linwood’s capacity cannot meet the demands of this population due to the severe space limitations the current facility presents. Linwood has an extensive and successful history of providing services to the most seriously challenged children in the State of Maryland with this disability. The completion of this project will provide the resources Linwood needs to continue to serve the special needs of these students from the surrounding counties in the State of Maryland.

If you would like to help, please make a donation to our Capital Campaign.
