Debi Lake’s Passing

June 29, 2012

Deborah L. Lake was Linwood’s Development Director in 2009-2010 and a member of our Advisory Board from 2010 until her recent passing. Debi passed away on June 26, 2012 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Debi was instrumental in shepherding Linwood through the early stages of our capital campaign. She connected us to David S. Brown Enterprises which made our new school construction project a reality. Debi spent a good deal of time in Annapolis coordinating Linwood’s efforts to get in front of the right people to obtain state bond funding for our project.

She was one who left a lasting impression on all whom she met. Debi had an engaging smile and a manner about her that made you feel energized after spending time with her. She exuded a passion for what she believed in. She also demonstrated amazing compassion for others, particularly for those who shared her life experiences in their quest to survive.

The entire Linwood community is saddened by her passing.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to Debi’s family and to Allan, her longtime companion. We will miss her.

Bill Moss
Executive Director
