Productive Employment In A Safe Setting
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Linwood Boutique suffered extensive damage in the flood that occurred in Ellicott City in late July 2016. As a result, we will be relocating to 3713 Old Columbia Pike. Stay tuned for details about the reopening. We are accepting donations at this time.
Linwood Boutique, located in Old Ellicott City, is more than a wonderful shopping experience for our customers. It features new and gently-used clothing, artisan handcrafts, home décor, and furniture while providing integrated employment and training opportunities for individuals living with autism. Competitive employment is the goal for many of our program participants. A stepping stone toward that goal is training and employment at the Boutique. The Boutique enables Linwood Center program participants to gain experience and develop employment skills in a structured and supportive environment, preparing them for the competitive workforce.
Linwood Boutique provides a safe setting with predictable schedules and built-in supports for individuals who need them, and our on-site support staff is trained to meet any special circumstances that may arise. We know the key to successfully employing people with disabilities is identifying and building on their strengths and then providing them the support they need to succeed. From processing new merchandise to helping customers, the Linwood Boutique allows individuals living with autism to enjoy the satisfaction that comes with productive employment.
All store merchandise is donated, and we rely on our community and supporters to help us stock the Boutique with new and gently-used items in excellent condition. Learn more about in-kind donations to the Boutique here.
